Ministries
We Care-
Members of this ministry visit young
people each week at the River Valley
Juvenile Detention
Center and participate in a monthly worship service on site to introduce the
word of God. HCP members give support and encouragement to the kids in
this facility for offenders aged 10-18.
Free Bible
Distribution-
HCP
provides free bibles to persons who come to visit and do not own a bible.
Bibles are also available to anyone who requests one through the church
office.
Community Services-
HCP
members support several local organizations including Under His Wings,
Starfish, Interfaith Food Pantry and The Plainfield Ministerial
Association. This group helps to maintain the relationship between HCP
and these groups by coordinating donations and maintaining communication.
Links Ministry- This is the team
responsible for maintaining relations with the local business community.
This group helps HCP link with other community organizations, including
the Plainfield Chamber of Commerce, for special events and to keep them
informed of ongoing HCP events.
Evangelism
Neighborhood Prayer-
There are various sites for neighborhood prayer held in the homes of HCP members in
Plainfield,
Joliet, Naperville and Bolingbrook on Wednesday evenings. Prayer is open
for members of HCP as well as their neighbors.
Bar Ministry-
This
group of HCP members go out to the bars once a month to minister to those
in need. While there is no intentionally spoken message, the presence of
the members in the facility have allowed them to engage in conversations
with persons who they would not otherwise have met.
Training and Education
Corporate Prayer and Bible Study-
Each Tuesday evening members
meet for corporate prayer at the ministry services center to pray for the
church, the community and the ministries of HCP.
Club 180-
This bible study and youth group designed
for teenagers ages 13-18, helps them see how they can apply God’s word to
their lives. They are also involved in many community outreach programs
and develop and maintain the Hiphop180.com website.
Children’s Ministry-
Creative and innovative programs are provided for Children up to age 12 to
educate and prepare them for attending the adult worship service.
Curriculum is designed for three separate age groups to help them learn
more about life in Christ and to equip them to become effective
Christians.
Fellowship Groups
Men’s Ministry-
Men’s
ministry meets regularly for sporting activities and fellowship. This
group also sponsors the Men of Destiny Conference each spring to include
men from other churches and the local community in a time of learning and
discussion.
Women’s Ministry-
The women meet quarterly for a time of fellowship and discussion. The
gatherings are usually held at local restaurants and provide for a casual
and relaxed environment for women to discuss common life issues.
Marriage Club- The marriage club meets quarterly to learn more about how to have a
good marriage. This group provides an opportunity for couples to
fellowship and learn from each other.
The Singles Ministry meets
quarterly for fellowship and discussion about the unique issues in their
lives. This group provides HCP members an opportunity to fellowship with
each other as well as members of other churches.
Service
Ministries
Hospitality Ministry-
This group is responsible for providing food service for various events as
well as the upkeep of the pulpit supplies.
The Harvest Shoppe-
This ministry provides the audio tapes,
CDs, bibles, music and books that are available each Sunday following
service. There are also a supply of powerful messages available from past guest
speakers and special events.
Greeters-
This group is responsible for welcoming
guests and members into the auditorium for services and special events.
They ensure that all visitors receive a gift bag and fill out a visitor’s
card and provide free bibles to visitors who do not own one.
Operations
Special Events-
This ministry helps to coordinate all major HCP special events. They develop
an annual calendar of events to ensure that there are no conflicts with
other events and ensure the proper assignment of responsibilities to
manage all events.
Facilities management-
This ministry acts as a liaison between
HCP and the facilities it utilizes. They ensure that equipment is
requested in a timely manner and that all need spaces are reserved.
Communications
Tape Ministry- This
ministry is responsible for the production of audio and videotapes of all
services and special events. They ensure that the resource ministry has
sufficient quantities available and also respond to any requests for tapes
via telephone or internet.
Audio/video production-
This ministry is responsible for the production of all
tapes & CDs for Sunday morning services as well as special events.
Information Services-
This ministry provides a service to
visitors and members by handling all sign up for special events and
responding to requests for information on a weekly basis.
Media-
This ministry is responsible for interacting with and responding to all
media requests for interviews or additional information. They also write,
produce and distribute press releases for special events.
Internet Ministry-
This group is responsible for updating and
maintaining information on the HCP website. This group also assists other
ministries in establishing, upgrading and maintaining their websites.
Ministry Team
The Pastoral Staff is comprised of
the pastors who lead the weekly worship services, provide
counseling, teach Lifestyles classes and weekly bible studies, assist in
the development and execution of ministries within HCP.
Deacons aid in the pastoral care of the membership and the proper
maintenance of the facilities.
The Music Ministry at HCP includes
the Harvest Praise worship team that leads the congregation in worship.
